In 2006, life was a crawling journey
a journey of time and tide
a journey of choices and voices
of faces and ultimately phases
Its storm took me like a roller-coaster
the mystery which binds me still;
birth in me every depth of good and ill
night eventually fell on 31st December, 2006
a torrent of fortune in disguise
I took a vow of silence in the mist of my sorrows
and in the dark of the night
came forth the first fragile crescent;
the tin delicate rib of nature
for the first time in the whole year,
I yearned to dream dreams
I trusted what was yet to come
so I said goodbye to all worries;
sweet dreams to the year(s) to befall
the night was so calm and pleasing to my soul
I thought of a better tomorrow in my dream’s world
where happiness is foreseen and sorrows unforeseen
Brave swan of the night
Timely tides
Silent sleuth
Rest oh my regal night.
For dVerse, where CC asked us to write about Nature.
Lovely images here – take a vow of silence in the midst of sorrow, brave swan of the night….poetic and lovely write. I am also soothed by night.

Damn 2006, or any year when the circumstances conspire against us, when the universe tests our mettle, when our heart discovers how much it can expand without breaking. But how lovely that you infused hope, & provided egress for us, sanctuary from the storm.

Oh dear Glenn, having hope as tiny as the mustard seed in the midst of life’s whips is divine and bravery. It’s like a route map of a sort. Thanks for passing by.

The “fragile crescent” and “delicate rib of nature”—what amazing descriptions to include in this poem about night. Thank you for linking up today 🙂

it’s a beautiful poem to uplift oneself…”so I said goodbye to all worries; / sweet dreams to the year(s) to befall”….the lines remind me of Tennyson’s Ring Out Wild Bells…..

I love this line: “I took a vow of silence in the mist of my sorrows.” Although you may have intended it to be “in the midst” rather than “in the mist,” I think it works better to be in the mist of sorrows. I think of being in the mist as a darkish, damp place, not altogether unpleasant, but chilling to the bone and a place one doesn’t want to remain too long. At any rate, if it was intentional, I love it, and if it was a typo, it is evidence that sometimes our subconscious knows what we really want to say and sends those signals to the typing fingers. Peace, Linda

Hahahaha, candidly speaking, it was a typo but honored to leave it that way just because you love it! Thanks dear Linda. Interesting comment, it got me laughing out loud you know.

Nature holds a key to all of heArt
of emotion.. expression of that
as spiRit.. and soUl of
who we are
connecting
in earthly
feats
of LOVE..
to spiral out
in galaxies of what
we are inside.. our arms
swirl outward in what
we still can be.. we

WAITING
TO SEE

our eyes

“a journey of time and tide

My eyes went kind of crazy on me here and saw “a journey of clocks and chocolates”! Hee hee.
I LOVE this section:
“I took a vow of silence in the mist of my sorrows
and in the dark of the night

Stellar writing. Blessings to you, my friend. I wish you chocolates … but not clocks, as the tick tock does become a noose around the neck at times.
